Say Thank You to the hard working people responsible for your safe and clean workplace – 21/10/20

Thank Your Cleaner Day was celebrated for the first time on 19th of October 2015. So, we at Rest Ashore Cleaning want to thank all of the amazing commercial, domestic and industrial cleaners who are frontline workers and our unsung heroes during these had times while the rest of us were locked down. In the sixth annual Thank Your Cleaner Day and, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, it has never been a more worthwhile celebration.

What is Thank Your Cleaner Day?

Thank Your Cleaner Day originated in New Zealand in 2015, originally conceived by the local trade organisation for Building Services Contractors (BSCNZ) in cooperation with Karcher. In the five years since, the event has continued to gather momentum, with cleaners being thanked in more than 30 countries around the world today.

BSCNZ has a strong network with the companies who provide professional cleaning services in the workplace area. Thus, through their engagement, word about the Thank Your Cleaner Day was spread widely and the Thank Your Cleaner day was a great success.

Information about the planned local activities for 2020 can be obtained online at:

Recognition for professional cleaners for their contribution in the fight against COVID-19

The fantastic work of professional cleaners is an essential component in the fight against coronavirus, which deserves our recognition.

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, tens of thousands of cleaners work day, night and weekends to keep your working and living environments clean, safe and hygienic. In spite of these very difficult circumstances, cleaners have continued to do an amazing job all over the world whilst putting their lives at risk at the same time.

In the time of the current coronavirus crisis, the central role professional cleaners play in our society is more evident than ever. They ensure safety and hygiene on a daily basis – for example in supermarkets, hospitals, public facilities or public transport.

Cleaning plays a major role in depriving coronavirus of their livelihood. After all, dirt provides a breeding ground for microorganisms until they can enter the human organism and multiply. In a clean, well-maintained environment that is cleaned regularly, the risk of transmission is minimised considerably. Thorough cleaning has been proven to remove over 90 percent of microorganisms and germs from surfaces.

The Thank Your Cleaner Day is a chance to say “Thank You!” for everyone working in a facility that is cleaned by professional cleaners. This could be office buildings, factories or public buildings like schools. People can thank their cleaner by leaving them a note, giving them a little gift or just saying “Thank you!”

Countries Celebrating Thank Your Cleaner Day

Close to 30 countries are already celebrating the Thank Your Cleaner Day as Karcher continues to champion the cause, encouraging as many businesses to take part as possible.
